5 April ~ Hunting for Eggs with Nana & Papa

Today Miss. Sailer and I went to a neighborhood egg hunt with her Nana & Papa. Despite the incredible wind, Sailer seemed to have a great time! How come weather doesn't ever seem to bother kids? Anyway, they had tons of games that she played and won prizes for (her fave being the paddle ball which she's almost taken all of our eyes out with)... before the baby Easter egg hunt. I couldn't believe it, she was on a mission. She didn't even seem to notice the other kids, she just wanted the eggs! She didn't even stop to open them to find the prizes inside, she just kept collecting. Here's a few pics from the day, and of course, there are a TON more that I've posted to new picture website under the Easter 2009 folder. Enjoy!

Family Maternity Photos

Alyssa, a sweet photographer friend of mine (& Sailer's pal Jack's mama), and I have been trying to get together for over a month now to do a family maternity session.... anyway, we finally got together this past weekend! Sailer was, of course, SO NOT into it, but Alyssa is the 3rd photographer that's tried to get her to kiss the "baby" and it finally happened! Due to the overwhelming praise she received from the achievement, she then had to kiss Mark's belly as well, but who's counting. It was WAY cute! Anyway, there are apparently a ton more, but she did a sneak peak on her blog, so I stole some of my faves to show off. Funny enough, I think one of my absolute favorites is the one of Sailer on Mark's shoulders and we're all laughing. This reminds me of us at home.... completely unposed and just enjoying each other but especially Sailer and her craziness!

Family Picture Website

I've decided to start a family website that will host all of our pictures (which are abundant as you can imagine).... you can view them at anytime at The James Gang's Photos

3 April ~ Sailer's First "Pony"

Today we were just playing around and putting on our various accessories... and I tried out a ponytail on Sailer. Doesn't it make her look so much older?!?!? She thought she was so fancy and loved to look at herself in the mirror. I snapped some quick shots of the cutie pie....

1 April ~ Dismal progress and Glorious Overestimations

I wish I could bring myself to play the April Fools' card and say that I was in labor or better yet that Lincoln had arrived today, but I just can't. It just seems like such a cruel joke... especially on my own fragile psyche. I'm SO beyond ready to meet the little man and SOOOOOO ready to not be large and in charge anymore.... so the truth of the matter is, I'm still fat and sassy and knocked up.

Outside of that, today I had my sono to gauge how big Lincoln is and my second "real check" for progress you know where (sorry if that conjured any visual you'd now like to erase).... anyway, for the past 2 or so months, the doctors have continued to scare me that this baby was huge with a capital H and always measuring ahead of scale. And since his daddy weighed in close to 10 lbs, I was terrified to say the least. Not to mention the other scary factor in the deal is that the baby daddy has a big noggin (no seriously, B-I-G) as does Lincoln's sweet little sister (let's just say 22% in weight and 90% in head circumference!!) This is all to say that this is what I've been mentally preparing for... until today. Hallelujah! Baby Lincoln is estimated to only be 6 lbs 2 oz right now and 18 1/2 inches long, with (thank the Lord) my normal-sized head! (= That's still above average on weight and length, but by no means is he gonna pack on nearly 4 lbs in the next few weeks to get him to the 10 pound (insert scream) range, so I'm elated!

Anyway, as for progression, I am still only dilated to a 1 (bummer)... I was hoping for some more progress.... and am effaced 50%. None of this really tells me anything. Could be tomorrow, next week, or God forbid longer. Anyway..... now we just wait and I continue on with the randomness that is nesting.
