Julie & Julia Party

Well, tonight I went to a Julie and Julia party that well.... let's just say, it makes my party planning look like child's play! The party was to kick off the opening of the movie but basically just a good excuse for a bunch of girls to get together. We all met for dinner beforehand where the hostest with the mostest served only Julia's finest.... and as you can see from the pics, in a setting fit for a wedding. Dinner was delicious of course! Here's lots of pics of the spectacular place settings (for 50 girls!)

And a pic of me and my 2 new neighbors!!

Then, we headed to actually see the movie... where we were met with saved seats and these goodies in our chairs. A+ movie watching! (= Not to mention, the movie was SUPER cute!

7 Aug ~ Princess Minnie

Sailer's two favorite things right now (ok 2 out of 3... can't for the dalmations) combined into one... the perfect toy! I love how she said there and put Minnie's lipstick on for her.

6 Aug ~ Panty Obsession

He's got some of his Small Paul on... but there is NOTHING small about this kid! He's my tank! LOVE HIM!!Eating one of her protein bars. It is super messy but at least it's getting some calories/protein in that little body of hers! (= I'm up for anything at this point. (PS= note the panties around her knees...more to come on that.)

Sailer's new obsession... big girl princess panties!! But as her mama, she doesn't do anything half-way. She doesn't want just one pair, she wants several... and she demands that she put them on (with no assistance from mommy.) And often she only gets her legs into one hole so they become more like a belt. Or like the above picture, she leaves them around her knees and walks around like a penguin. At one point tonight, she had on about 5 pairs. She now even wears them over her pull up and under her clothes. What a crack up!
Unfortunately, she still has to wear her pull-ups because the whole pooping thing is "SCARY"! In fact, that's the newest Sailerism... When I smell that lovely odor radiating from her little pants, I ask her, "Sailer, did you go poo poo?" And she looks at me, and says, "no, Mommy, it's gone. It's all gone." Ummmm.... Sailer, if only that were so!

4 Aug ~ "Mommy's Wallet??"

WHEWWWW- this was SOME morning. My daughter is SUCH a toot! Well, I got them up, fed, dressed, and in the car because we were supposed to meet up with Alyssa and some of her clan at the movies to see Igor. Well, I noticed my wallet was not in the diaper bag, so I ran back in thinking it must be on the counter. It wasn't. I'm desperately searching for it because the kids are in the car, we're late for the movies, etc. Well, I can't find it anywhere. I'm beyond frustrated. So I go to the car to get the kids, and I get Sailer out... she's going nuts because I've promised her a movie. And more importantly, popcorn. Well, I explain to her that we just can't go b/c I can't find my wallet to pay for the movie. She looks at me and says, "Mommy's wallet?" And proceeds to walk to her playroom, grab HER purse, and pull out my wallet. I could have KILLED her!!! IF I didn't die laughing. So because I'd promised her a movie, and we'd clearly missed ours... we went to see G Force. Ummm... we made in about 45 minutes. Not because it wasn't cute. It was. But Sailer wasn't feeling the part real/part animated movie. Oh well... she got her popcorn, so she was happy.

3 Aug ~ One Word... REDNECK!

LOL... need I say more? This is the bane of poor Mr. L's existence these days... he {HATES} tummy time! So lately Miss. S has tried to "help" him and suffer through it with him.

There's a lot of licking and biting on the pillow...

Ok- I don't think I can put into words how much I dread going to the grocery store. I never have before but with the addition of another little one to handle during the excursion, it usually makes the trip rather painful. Maybe it has something to do with the insistance by Miss. S to get in the stroller with the car front. Which in and of itself isn't a bad thing, in fact, it can be a great way to entertain her. It's just that it also has easy exiting for her, which she frequently takes advantage of. And now likes to sneak things in my buggy without my notice. The inability to see is the second problem- with Linc's carseat propped up at the top, I tend to run into store displays because it's so much bigger than a normal cart, harder to maneuver, and there's NO visibility. Ugghhh. Well, this past trip, (GASP) there were no cart/cars available. Sailer went into immediate meltdown. UNTIL by the grace of God, she discovered the Hello Kitty balloon you see balloon. OMG- it was the best thing ever!!! She was completely entertained with it the entire trip. Not to mention, it's provided days of playtime...mostly trying to get it into the fan as you can see.

Aug 1~ Welcome Home Harlee!

This morning we went to a super fun swimming party to celebrate Sailer's pal, Angelo. Now his mama likes to decorate like this mama... love it!
And because the daddy started playing bocce ball with all the guys, I got to get in the pool as far as I could with Sailer given that I didn't have a suit. Nice. Thank the Lord for sweet ladies who watched my second born or I'd have been done! I'll have to get some of the pics from them... they grabbed a bunch of Linc and Miss. Lola together (they were born a day apart).

Bocce ball in the backyard:
Sailer and the birthday boy:
Linc, "Sorry girls, I only date models." LOL!

Tonight we went over to the Mackies to take them dinner and I was dying to meet little Miss. Harlee Grace. She was born this past week and after a scary little bout, she got to come home. Had to grab a pic of my tank and this little sweetie. She's a big baby but still looks dainty next to L. Welcome home Harlee!!

And Sailer ready to go home...

31 July ~ Playdates for babies and parents

Today, Sailer had her pal, Benjamin, over... and despite the major "MINES" I heard come out of her mouth, I think she loved having him come play. ESP when they brought out the tunnel, then, she kept calling him "come on benjamin, come on!"

Do you think they really can't see unless they're this close to the tv?Benjamin getting his groove on... just kidding. Don't really know what's going on here but it looked like he was dancing so it makes me laugh.
Two little hoodlums in the tunnel...

And isn't she the cutest thing ever?? This is Miss. Savannah that is a month older than Linc. One day he's definitely going to be kicking himself for sleeping through his date with her...

Anytime I go to Ella Bella these days, Sailer insists on seeing the cookie lady down the way. They LOVE her in there... which I can't decide is really fun or kind of sad. oh well... Anyway, because I knew we were leaving her that night, I ran in and grabbed one of the coveted monster cookies for her. It usually takes a few sessions to eat it all, but it's like heaven to her.

Tonight Mark and I actually got to go to dinner club this month!! With being prego, having babies, etc, we've been MIA from it for the last few months. Tonight we did it a little differently, and instead of having it at someone's home, we just all met out at Uncle Julio's to celebrate Big Hal's B-day! One of my faves... here's some of the crew.
After dinner, some of us headed over to Chill in Grapevine. Ummm... interesting "scenery" there, but fun times.
Why must our hubbies insist on throwing gang signs at every possible moment?
Cute Sailerism for the day: While Mommy and Daddy were out to dinner with friends, Mimi was coerced into, count them, THREE showings of Sleeping Beauty in a row. And during this princess marathon, there is a part in SB where the prince is trying to coax his horse into the forest with extra food and carrots, then, proceeds to get bucked off into the water. He turns around and says "NO CARROTS!" Well, Mimi and Sailer decided to start saying "No carrots, Camo, no carrots!" to our sweet dog. And I hear that now all the time. Every time Camo trots into the room. Completely makes me LOL! Silly girl...

30 July ~ Off to Canton we go!

Today Nat and I snuck off (sans babies!) to Canton for the day. I've been wanting to go for a few months now to get some things for the house, but it obviously wasn't going to work with Mr. L. So anyway, I woke up to pounding rain this morning, and was in SUCH a bad mood because I thought we wouldn't get to go. Well, thank the Lord for Nat... she totally rallied! We decided to brave it regardless and just go dressed like bums ready for the nasty weather. It ended up being PERFECT!! Low 80's, no rain, no big crowds to fight, awesome deals, etc. We made THREE trips back to the car to unload our handy dandy rolling cart because we bought so much stuff. SO FUN!

Lincoln turning three months old

Today my little man turned 3 months old... I swear time is flying by! So here's the scoop on him right now:
(1) He weighs a little over SIXTEEN pounds... that is not even close to being on the charts. I have a total rolly polly, and I love it! I'm so used to having a super little baby like S and now I have this little tank to carry around.
(2) He still does not sleep through the night... he likes 2am and 5am!
(3) He is SO sweet though. Despite the sleepless nights, he's the sweetest baby! He is so happy and smiley. As you can see from the above picture, he still has those irresistible dimples.
(4) He L-O-V-E-S his big sister. For all the torture he has to endure, I can't believe he still lights up when he sees her. I will say that the torture is in the name of "big hugs"!
(5) He's a total paci baby, which is a lifesaver.
6) He really is a little man. He can belch and toot like a grown-up. Somewhat embarrassing at times.(= And we go through several wardrobe changes each day due to projectile vomiting and the steamy diapers that never seem big enough.(=
Doesn't he look like a little man?? Thanks Tia Carmen for the cool shirt.

29 July ~ Grandparent PJs

The Nana bought these cutie pj's for the kids in anticipation of Mr. L being born... and hopefully having a stay-at-nana's house day. Well, today I thought they were heading over there for the day, so I got them ready in the grandparent duds. Didn't quite make it over there, but I still grabbed a few pics of them.

Mr. Lincoln tried out his exersaucer for the first time today. Though he didn't last long in it- it seemed he actually really liked it for awhile. Hopefully, it's going to be a lifesaver for the mama soon!!

And of course, Miss. S NEEDED a turn as well (love that all she cares about is talking on the phone...)

28 July ~ Shoe Fettish

Miss. S loves to try on my shoes... but tonight she thought she needed to trade shoes with her daddy (including his dress socks).
