Another day at gymnastics...my little star!A Today I was putting some clothes in Lincoln's closet and I put him in his crib and he actually fell asleep... this is the first time he's slept in his crib, so I had to take a picture.
Lincoln's first time in his big boy bumbo seat. He's getting so big so fast... Today my friend, Jaclyn, brought her cutie little man, Jake, over while we had a little girl talk/ lot-o-wine while the kiddos played. They were so stinking cute together. Saying "sorry" and making it better with a big hug... There was a LOT of bribing with these puppies... And ended their big night with a cozy movie for 2.
One of my BFFs, Nat, and I have a tradition that we always see the Harry Potters together on opening night... so we've been counting the days for this opening. And it did not disappoint. As many of you know or can tell, this girl embraces any theme, so I brought some fun "flair" as I like to call it to the movies. We had our Gryffindor scarfs, HP glasses, and even a Mad-Eye Moody glass eye patch. Too funny!
Today was Sailer's last day of summer dance, and they allowed the parents to come in and watch the class. Well, that was an adventure to say the least! First of all, Sailer wouldn't put down Nemo for the first portion of the class, and then, wouldn't tap unless Mommy tapped with her! LOL! My dancing days are so past due. Nemo joining the class... 2 little monkeys... the tumbling portion... she looks likes she's having a HORRIBLE time, huh. (= Jumping over the ballet shoe is always a fun game! Running in first position is way better than standing still... I love that this is exactly like her newborn picture...
Today was a major mommy errand day... I can't believe how much you get done when you have a few hours with only a newborn in tow. I love with a capital L my "Sailer bear" (her nickname since she was a baby), but she is just that... a BEAR to shop with these days. For ex, the other day she wanted to buy some stuffed animal that was like $50 at the store and we'd already put enough goodies in our basket for her, and I said "no," after throwing a little tantrum, she looked up at me and said (and I kid you not)... "my daddy buy." Ummm....no she didn't!! She's going to be horrible if it's already starting now. The books all say that the ability manipulate at a young age is a sign of intelligence in kids... if that's the case, "A Beautiful Mind" comes to mind b/c this kid has mastered it already. Ha Ha!
So I'll leave you with a few pics of the babies... there's a little porch off of the kids' playroom and I finally picked up some outdoor chairs for it yesterday, so Sailer pulled her little legos out on the porch and I read while L slept out there. Who cares that it was 104!! I love that she even makes sure Lincoln gets some to play with... ha ha!
Today was such a big and great day for our family. As I've written a lot about lately, we have been searching and praying for a new church home. Well, we finally found a place that meets the needs we'd been searching for.... truly, praise the Lord! We joined a fantastic church that is ironically a minute from our old house today! It's small and familial and what has been SO amazing about our experience thus far is that every time we've visited (and I mean EVERY single time), we've been approached by young couples with kids our age to join them for lunch after or to set up a playdate or to get us involved. That just doesn't happen! And never would've at our old church (which I still love but just needed to find somewhere that was a better fit for the needs of family now). Anyway, I'm SO excited about getting involved and meeting more people there. Funny enough, we actually have run into quite a few people that I went to college with, so that's really helped make us feel at home faster. YEAH for answered prayers!!!!
Mr. L's Nana came over today with a special little gift for him... his first CAR! Ok, so it's a little matchbox car, but it's something special because his daddy is such a car fanatic and apparently was addicted to these as a child.
Saturday, we pretty much stayed in our pj's all day! SOOO nice... I haven't taken a pic of the cutie little man in his pj/hats lately, and I couldn't resist today. Totally in love with him!
Tonight was SO much fun!! The craziness of Facebook reunited me with one of my very old friends who now lives about a MINUTE away from me!! Jaclyn has just started golf lessons, so we got them to play with us in the annual Midnight Golf Tournament up at Timarron. Last year was SO dang fun, so we could't wait to play in it again. The tournie is set up with a 9 hole scramble while it's still light out, then, you head into the clubhouse for dinner, and then, everyone heads back out to play a 9 hole scramble in the dark! They use glow-in-the dark balls and line the fairways and flags with glow sticks. Anyway, we had a blast, and if you can believe it, we WON the whole thing!! And had an absolute blast doing it. (= This is post-dinner and on to the fun and games! Look at these super fun drinks... all glow-in-the-dark! And then, a picture of us after a "few" of those fun little jello shots.
