12 Feb ~ Owl Love You Forever!!

Today Sailer had her Valentine's Day Party at school... I found these super cute owl themed plates and decorations at my home-away-from-home, Target, and just had to get them!
And finally, some pics of Sailer's school pals...

11 Feb ~ Camping Inside

I found this super cute little tent at Target this morning and it just screamed for me to buy it! Sailer has played with it ever since we got home... she crawls in and out and in and out, and of course, has to take all of her "friends" with her. Won't it be so perfect for picnics this spring?!?!

10 Feb ~ My Sick Baby

Well, Sailer woke up even worse today... she doesn't "act" sick but you can just tell by her eyes and the horrific cough she has. I decided to take her into the doc and have her checked out, and sure enough, she has ear infections and likely a sinus infection. Poor baby had to be put on antibiotics. Luckily, I took her in early, so neither are severe and the dr thinks they'll be knocked out in a few days.

P.S. Sailer didn't mind seeing the dr since she had stolen his Mickey Mouse and was completely entertained by it.

WELCOME GRAHAM HOUSTON JENKINS!!

Born: Monday, Feb. 9
Time: 5:28 p.m.
Weight: 8lbs, 11oz
Length: 22 1/4 in

Grady's little brother is finally here! Although I was dying for him to be born on his due date (my b-day), I'm thinking since he was already almost 9lbs, it was time for him to join us!

9 Feb ~ Sugar High Anyone?

Today I had to take my dad to a dr's appt, so Sailer spent the day with her Nana (b/c she doesn't deal with the car that great anymore). They had a Valentine cupcake making party. (=When I picked her up, the sugar intake didn't stop, I was CRAVING a good cookie (don't ask me why?), so Sailer and I went to the Nestle Tollhouse. They were YUMMY!

8 Feb ~ Sad day yet again....

Ok, this is the FOURTH time we've tried to go to the Stockshow this season, and as this was the last day available, I was so very sad to miss it again. We were supposed to meet up with Natalie and Tiffany today, but my precious little Sailer woke up feeling even worse today so we stayed home. It's the first time I've missed the stockshow/rodeo in YEARS!!!! Oh well, can't control the weather or when your baby is going to get sick... we both at least got some really cute new boots out of the ordeal.

7 Feb ~ Happy B-day Grady!!/ Mommy Picture Time

Today was Sailer's boyfriend, Grady's, birthday party...we actually only lasted about 30 minutes at the party, and then, poor Sailer just fell asleep. Apparently, she was getting sick b/c this was SO not like her, especially in the middle of a jump house arena.

Then, that afternoon, I had my maternity photos taken... almost 5 hours worth! It was pretty awkward at first b/c I really haven't had my pics taken alone in a LOOOONG time, but Tamara, the photographer, who I absolutely love made it fun and very comfortable. I can't even count how many outfits I wore, and I'm dying to get the proofs back. I remember being prego with Sailer and I begrudgingly took maternity pics b/c I thought I had to, but I was SO grateful for those pictures once I got them back. It's a time you seem to forget and I love looking at those sweet pictures to help me remember.

6 Feb ~ Dinner for 2 & Mommys Night Out

Tonight, my sweet g-friend, Sherry, treated me to a movie and dinner combo for my b-day... we left the girls with the daddys while we were out. I grabbed a shot of them before we left having a little dinner for 2. We saw "He's Just Not That Into You" and it was pretty cute. I'd read the book and was curious how they were going to pull it off, but it was really entertaining. It was pretty funny to watch b/c many things you can relate to and can laugh at yourself or someone you know about....

5 Feb ~ Power Struggles

Every morning Sailer and I have a battle of wills regarding "how close is too close to the tv?" Everytime I turn my back, she's inched her chair just a little bit closer.... until finally, she gets to her version of a perfect viewing (see below). Once we reach this point, I pull her chair back and explain why it's not good for her to sit so close, and inevitably, slowly but surely, she sneaks forward once again. She is totally my child with that stubborn streak.

4 Feb ~ Bath Time

I just haven't taken any shots of Sailer at bathtime in awhile, so I grabbed some today. It's amazing there's water left to bathe her given that there are so many toys in her tub with her. As you can see, it is ALWAYS one of the highlights of the day. She'll stay in there and shiver once the water has turned cold if I'd let her. Crazy little fish!

3 Feb ~ These boots were made for.... well, not her, that's for sure

Sailer is infatuated with all my boots and everytime I take them and walk away, she snatches them. This morning I hadn't even had a chance to put them on, and she's snuck them into her playroom to put them on. Poor little thing got them on, but walking in them was a different story....as you can see here, her balance is a little askew.

Naked as a Jaybird

Sailer's new funny is that when I take her PJs off in the morning, she makes a mad dash under our breakfast table and hides where it's hard to get her. She just sits down right there where she can still see her cartoons but where mommy can't get to her to put her diaper back on. Stinker!

2 Feb ~ My funny Valentine

It's no secret that one of my favorite holidays is Valentines Day... and yes, it's really a holiday for all you romantic scrooges out there. Anyway, since I didn't get to put Sailer in anything V-day-ish yesterday b/c of the game, I had to officially start the countdown today... 12 more days! Aren't those glasses too cute?

1 Feb ~ Superbowl Sunday

Well, I completely fell down on my photography job at the party...I didn't get hardly any! )= It was such a fun turnout... and Sailer loved it! There were 17 kids there and let's just say that her swingset and playroom are officially broken in now! I had such a blast catching up with some girlies that it's been WAY too long hanging with AND I avoided seeing even one play of the game, so it was a super successful night. (=

Here's a few shots (mostly of Sailer)...the first one cracks me up. I was getting ready in the bathroom when Mark yells for me to get my camera. Apparently, Sailer (unprompted) had gone to the bar area, gotten her own koozie and put her juice box in it and was walking around with it.

31 Jan ~ Domestic goddess in training

Due to the state of emergency at my house on Saturday, Sailer's Mimi came over to lend a hand. As I posted earlier, we decided to throw a last minute Superbowl Party at our house (more specifically, Mark decided to throw a last minute Superbowl Party at our house given that I didn't even know there was a game being played)....details.... anyway, it just happened to coincide with my idiotic decision to tackle painting and fauxing our entire family room and three hallways. So I thought this was doable. Then, unexpectedly the cover for my ottoman and roman shades for the family room were done ahead of schedule and given that they were a different color scheme than the decor currently in the room...I decided I HAD to sew the curtains for the family room and redecorate to match the new goodies. CRAZY LADY! Let's just say, the nesting stage has hit early at the James house. No seriously, I stay up to all hours of the night just doing random things that NEED to be done. Anyway, to make a short story longer.... my mom came over and started the curtains for me (hallelujah) while I painted, and then, I got up the next morning to finish them. They're currently hung and un-lined/un-hemmed but only I knew that at the party. (=

All this random post was to say really that I just had to snap these shots of Mimi teaching Sailer how to sew... isn't it crazy my mom sews on an antique sewing machine. Now that's talent! Anyway, it just cracks me up b/c my Mur begged and begged to teach me growing up how to cook and sew but I wanted no part in it....which is hilarious since I now love to sew but I was young and BRILLIANT back then. (= I REALLY hope Sailer loves "projects" when she gets big! It's definitely in her genes.

My BIG boy!!

Today Mark and I went in for our 4D Sonogram of Baby Boy (no, he still doesn't have a name and it's KILLING ME). Anyway, at first the sono tech said "oh, you're so small, are you sure you're really that far a long?" Ummm, yeah lady... I'm pretty sure. Anyway, as she starts to get revved up looking at Baby James, she says, "oh well, I take that back... he's a BIG boy." What?!?! That's just what every prego woman soon to deliver wants to hear. His images resembled Sailer's a lot, but his sweet face and tummy are super filled out whereas hers were not. So if once wasn't enough, the sono tech continued to talk about how big he was already and likely going to be at delivery. At this point, I just turned to Mark and said, "I hate you." Aren't I precious? Well, the story is that I've been petrified since we found out it was a boy about him being really big at delivery... since his daddy was close to a 10 pounder when he was born. And what's funny is that I'm not really scared of the weight per se (don't get me wrong, I'm not dying to birth a small toddler), but I REALLY REALLY REALLY do not want to be induced. And that's what the doctor insinuated would happen if he got too big at the end. I've had so many friends who have had wonderful experiences with inducements, and it's not like I'll be devastated or anything should this be required, but it's just not my first choice or preference. One b/c I LOVED actually going into labor when Sailer was ready... it was so exciting/frustrating/etc. just waiting on her to make her appearance. At the time, the ticking time bomb that I was didn't seem all that fun, but looking back I loved it. Second, the whole increased risk of C-section is enough to scare me too! But with all that being said, I honestly don't care how he gets here, as long as he gets here safely and healthily!

So without further adieu... here are a few of the images. And, if you're like me, I believe the 4d sono pics are pics only a mama/daddy or grandparent can love because I'm not gonna lie, I look at others and think "now that just doesn't look normal..." But I think he's perfect and positively handsome. He kept his hand in front of his face the majority of the time, so it was hard getting any good shots. He did smile at us, open his eyes, yawn, and grab his foot and tried to eat his toes while we were watching, which was very cool.

29 Jan ~ PJ Day

Today was PJ day at Sailer's school, so I took a quick pic of her and her friend Juliana. What is missing from her outfit is the eyepatch that matches. It was absolutely hilarious! Will try to catch it later.
